Pull up your socks and lace up your trainers. We're moving on to the workout: The oxyd becomes an aestheticised gym with modified fitness equipment, including optimisation diagrams and programmes!
In the exhibition Sporty Animal, Gianin Conrad and Sebastian Utzni focus on the human body. The body as a carrier of mutually influencing relationships of traditions, cultural imprints and technologies, and at the same time as a projection surface itself for any form of optimisation.
And from this point of view, exciting parallels can also be found between sport and art. In both areas, it is about forms of expression, staging, the art of play and a talent for competition that can manoeuvre its way through the rules of the game in order, at best, to win a victory or recognition at the end of the day: a working out of mental and physical boundaries.
